The danger of Facebook identity theft
ID fraudsterOur research shows that 41% of Facebook users will divulge personal information - such as email address, date of birth and phone number - to a complete stranger, greatly increasing their susceptibility to identity theft. In most cases, it was possible to access users' family photos, information about likes/dislikes, hobbies, employer details and other personal facts - all information that could help a criminal guess someone's password or impersonate them. Many more have made details of their friends and family freely available to millions of other Facebook users.
Facebook's privacy features actually go far beyond those of many competing social networking sites, but users are simply not choosing their privacy options carefully and have not learnt how to behave safely online. Home users are not the only ones at risk. Businesses and other organizations could be the victims of a targeted attack by cybercriminals who are using stolen employee information to their advantage.
Facebook, employee productivity, and your company's image
A Sophos poll revealed that 50% of employees are blocked from accessing Facebook at work, not just because of privacy concerns, but also due to fears that workplace productivity may be hit. Companies are also concerned that employees may be writing material on Facebook, or publishing photographs and videos, that may cast the company in an embarrassing light. Although sites like Facebook can be used for legitimate business purposes, we believe IT administrators should be given the power to decide whether access is appropriate for their company.

Olympic medal in the bag for Malaysia

Lee Chong Wei beat South Korea’s Lee Hyun Il 21-18, 13-21, 21-13 to set up a final showdown against China’s Lin Dan tomorrow.
World champion Lin Dan, the fanatical crowd at the Beijing University of Technology Gymnasium and even possible under-handed tactics will not stop Chong Wei in his bid to bring home Malaysia's first ever Olympic gold medal. Chong Wei said he owes it to himself, coach Misbun Sidek and Malaysia to give the final his best shot. He spoke like a man who wants to see his destiny fulfilled and that was a powerful tool against South Korea's Lee Hyun Il in yesterday's semi-final, as the South Korean gave the match everything he had.
That was the reason for Chong Wei's wobble in the second game but the Malaysian held on to win 21-18, 13-21, 21-13 in 62 minutes, a win which assures that Beijing will not be the tragedy that the Athens edition of 2004 was. "I have reached the final and that, by itself, is a triumph as there have been so many upsets in the tournament. The pressure was immense but I kept my focus for most of the match.

NEW YORK 14 Ogos — Mercu tanda terkenal di New York iaitu Empire State Building (ESB) akan dihiasi dengan cahaya yang terdapat pada warna Jalur Gemilang sebagai menghargai penyertaan Malaysia dalam Sukan Olimpik Beijing yang sedang berlangsung sekarang.
Warna Jalur Gemilang akan dinyalakan di sayap timur ESB pada 21 Ogos bersama warna bendera Maghribi di sayap sebelah utara, warna bendera Findland di sebelah barat dan warna bendera Kenya di sayap selatan.
